Teehee is an anglicization of Cherokee tihi/dihi 'killer' as you can see on various websites at http://tr.im/detx.

My doctor in California had the surname Teehee, when I asked he said he was Athabaskan or Na Dine.

Athabaskan and Na-Dene are language families and not nations. You can easily see that Teehee is a Cherokee surname at tinyurl.com/ydhfrmdx, for example.
