some in my family says it was made up others say dutch then others say its Austrian. idk what do yall think

As you can see at http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=cfbuskin&id=I5587, Derting is an alteration of German Darting or Darding. I don't know the origins of these names.
