the origin of the surname "Parthemer"
I looked all over online, and couldn't find a hint of what the name "Parthemer" suggests. Anyone know? (Thanks if you do).

If you start at http://tr.im/gDXg and work your way back, you'll see that Parthemer is an alteration of German Partenheimer whose origin you'll find at http://www.ancestry.com/facts/Partenheimer-family-history.ashx
yes--I tried that route and found several family trees. But what I want to know is the meaning of the name and how to pronounce it, exactly. My friend from Germany said that it *sounds* Arab, but does anyone one else have any other suggestions? or clues that says otherwise?
I don't know how your friend came to the conclusion that the name sounds Arab. There is no letter P in Arabic.
Yes, thank you. Somewhere, out there, there is an "Alice" or "Olga" or "Christopher" Parthemer that arrived in the U.S. in the mid to late 1800s. And they couldn't have been of Arab origins. That clears up all my questions...I found my needle in the haystack.
