does anybody know anything about the surname...
...Evigan? I've been trying to find out more about it, including origin, meaning, & any varying pronounciations, but so far I've come up short. Any help would be appreciated.

The last part of the name gives it an Irish look, like Mulligan for example, but I can find no evidence of it as an Irish name. Nor as a name in any other language. Results from Google give the impression that there is only one family in the whole world surnamed Evigan. Can it be so?

Information found on the Family Search website -
Margaretha Ewigen, born Bavaria 1629, daughter of Cunz and Cath. Ewigen.
Margareta Nielsdatter ("daughter of Niels") Evigen, born Folda, Norway, 1749.
Elizabeth Evigan, daughter of Charles and Sophie, born Middlesex, New Jersey, 1851.
Margaret Evigen (sic), daughter of Charles and Sophie, born Middlesex, NJ, 1854.
Other Evigan notices locating the name in Middlesex, NJ.So Evigan could be from either the German Ewigan, apparently no longer extant in its homeland, or from Norwegian Evigen.
It's noteworthy that the actor Greg Evigan was born Amboy, Middlesex, NJ. Doubtless the US Evigans are all one family.Ewig is a German surname and place name.
