I am interested in the origin of the surname Freixa. I believe it is of Spanish decent, however it is the Catalan variation. Does anyone happen to have information on what it means? A Coat of Arms would be great too.

Freixa is a Catalan name which, like Spanish Fresno, is derived from Latin fraxinus 'ash tree'.
