Evleman
Evleman shows up as alternative surname of a few (unrelated) people with the last name Coleman on Census records I've been going through. They are listed like this:
Panny T Evleman [Perrey T Coleman]
John H Evleman [John H Coleman]
I've Googled it, and the results yield TWO pages, most of which are on Ancestry.com
I'm just confused/curious: is this an actual surname, or what? Is it just creative spelling; Something goofy with the Census?
Thanks for any thoughts.

The name Evleman looks very similar to the name Euleman. I think Euleman is of German origin. In that case it will probably mean Owlman, which sounds a bit like Coleman.
