What is the origin of Terentiev? It's Russian.

Indicates descent from a man named Terentii, which in English is Terence. From the Roman clan name Terentius. Why this was used as a male given name in Russia is beyond me, but there are several Russian surnames based on this name. There are some early Christian saints named Terence or Terentius.
