Argote
Hello!
I would like to have the meaning of the surname (and name of a Spanish Basque town) Argote. Thank you!
Is it related to the name of the Frank queen Argota?

Argote is the Castilian form and Argoitia the Basque. The meaning is given as "over the rock". Another explanation is that the name is Germanic not Basque, and the Frankish tongue was Germanic.

Thank you!
What about the meaning of the queen's name?

Really no idea - unless (wild guess) it is a latinised form of a germanic name, say Hargott, from hari "army" and gott "god". These words do appear as components of germanic names, e.g., gott in Gottfried/Godfrey; hari in Harsint ("army-truth"), Lothar ("people-army"). Not sure though, how they would stand up as components of female names.
