My name
I've been interested in the meaning behind the name "Fahrion."
The only information I've found is that it originated in the German/French provinces of Alsace-Lorraine, currently controlled by the French, but inhabited by people of German descent who speak a dialect known as 'Alsatian."

Rosa und Volker Kohlheim, Familiennamen, Mannheim 2000, has:
1. Latin translation of the German surname Hering ("herring"), from Lat. "fario" meaning "fish, maybe salmon trout" (unfortunately the word is not in my Latin dictionaries), here obviously with a Greek ending.
2. Alteration of Fabian
