The SAQUI surname appears in my Family Tree, and I understand the origin to be Spanish/Portuguese.
My Dutch Saqui ancestors were Sephardim in Amsterdam, mid-1700s; and I have been told that they arrived there from Livorno.
A SAQUI descendant in UK writes, "Bevis Marks records seem to be indicating that Saqui is a derivative of DE SOUZA ".
Is SAQUI a derivation of DE SOUZA ??
Seeking origin and derivations, to 1800.....
