Hello,Mike! My name is Omar Cann, aka NeoGhostShadow. I'm new to this website called behindthename.com. I have a question that has been bothering me from the beginning about my surname. What is the origin and the meaning of my last name, "Cann"? If you or anybody who have the answers to the question, please let me know?

Cann is either from Old English canne 'can', the nickname of a maker or seller of cans, or from Cann, a placename in Dorset.

Most likely from the Irish McCann meaning son of Cana (wolfcub).
