Moya
While doing a search of the name Moya I discovered it was a surname common in South American. I know Moya is a Zulu name as well as an Irish one - however I doubt that either is relevant. Any ideas on the meaning?

You'll find the origin of Hispanic Moya at http://www.ancestry.com/facts/Moya-name-meaning.ashx.
It could be, but it is not sure also an americanisation of an Italian surname Moia which pronounciation is identical to spanish Moya. Moia is an italian northern surname typica mostly of Lombardy and Piedmont. It is a topographical surname.
