Custpatron
In doing genealogy work, i came across the surname Custpatron for one of my ancestors. It was listed on a death certificate for her daughter. Location of the person was mid-Tennessee in mid 1800s/early 1900s. I've never heard of this surname before and i'm wondering if it really is her surname or what. Does anyone have any info on it? I googled but it just left me more confused. Thanks!

"Kostpatron" means something like "food provider" in German, but I don't know if it's used as a surname. Depending on how far back the name was used it could have just been a title.

n/mI don't know why one death certificate said Custpatron as her surname...just found another of her children's DC and it lists her surname as Brown.
