Another Surname
Okay, I know this seems soon after, but I have to make up for lost time trying to login here.
Another interesting surname I've heard is Zuendel. I have no info about it at all whatsoever, so any info is welcome.

I think we had this before.German (also Zündel): from a diminutive of Zunder, a metonymic occupational name for a seller of kindling wood, from Middle High German zunder ‘tinder’.
(Dictionary of American Family Names, Oxford)I want to add, that "Zunder"in Germany usually means the material taken from the mushroom and not a kind of wood, so Zunder or Zu(e)ndel would have been a collector of such mushrooms. (This is what my books say; Rosa und Volker Kohlheim, Familiennamen, Mannheim 2000)
