PITTSFIELD - Elizabeth V. "Betty" Doscher, age 98, of Melbourne Assisted Living in Pittsfield, passed away Thursday,morning,May10,2012. Betty was born in Jersey City, NJ, July 8, 1913, daughter of Michael and Mary Makely. She married John (Jack) Doscher and had two sons, Jeff and Kevin, and moved to Red Bank, NJ. Her loving husband died in 1956. She was the matriarch, looking after the others. Joe, Helen, Bob, Michael and May predeceased her and Dorothy, George and Geraldine are still living. Betty's sons live in Pittsfield; Kevin, with his wife Susan, and Jeff, with his wife, Donna, along with their children, Christopher, Lauren & Shaun who loved their grandmother deeply and miss her. Susan and Donna loved Betty with a tenderness that made her feel very special. Kevin and Jeff feel so fortunate to have been loved and nurtured by such a strong and proud woman who set a progressive The funeral service for Betty will be at 10:30 am on Friday May 18, 2012, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Anthony Church in Red Bank, NJ. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Red Bank, NJ.
