Russian version of 'Winter'
So, you know how you can almost 'translate' a name from English to Russian?
Like:
Johnny Peterson -> Vanya Petrov
Alexandra Wolfe -> Aleksandra Volkova
Is there one for the surname Winter? If not, does someone know the Russian word for Winter/how it would be changed to become more surname-like (I guess)?
Thank you!

Russian for winter is zima, and a surname from this is Zimin (masculine form), Zimina (feminine form). This would mean '(son) of Zima', whether a baptismal name or nickname, male name or female name, I couldn't say. There is also a surname Zimenkov, from zima.
Thank you so much!
Just a little more info on the word Zima. Zima itself is a surname as well. There are 3 actresses named Madeline, Vanessa, and Yvonne with the surname Zima. Her surname means "winter" in Polish, her paternal grandfather is from Poland. They are both Slavic however so share the same root word. A little side note. :)
