Re: Tenorio

I've found another site where it gives a different perspective on the surname Tenorio - http://www.4crests.com/tenorio-coat-of-arms.html . It says that the surname Tenorio derived from the dialect term "Tena", meaning "dweller at the rough-farming building". The word "Tena" was originally from the Latin "Tigna", meaning "beam, or plank". This origin suggests that Tenorio may have originated from Tena, a place name in Huesca province. Tena is also a Catalan name. I still think the Galician origin is more closer to the true origin of the Tenorio surname.
I think for sure the surname Tenorio is from the village of Tenorio in Galicia, but what is still a hypothesis is that the meaning of the name Tenorio could be of Latin origin, going back to the Roman Empire era, or perhaps Greek. I have not found a meaning though, but perhaps it could have to do with the first part "tenor" or "teno", both are also Spanish surnames.
If you are still disappointed, perhaps you should help me seek the meaning of the surname Tenorio?
