Jauhari is an Indian (South Asian) surname meaning 'jeweller'. Soni and Sonar, both meaning 'goldsmith', are also Indian surnames.

Yes,
Italian is Orefice.
German is Schmuck...Anyone else see a pattern; I feel like I am the only one that sees how "jewler" or "gold smith" as a sur-name in English, brought over from another ethnicity, has an English equivalent that means something terrible. Sorry but it is a bit personal, with a name that also means "Dick" and the Italian version of the "gold smith" sur-name, it has been following me all my life in the worst way; you could say has influenced me irreparable...Anyone know any others?

Thanks, Jauhari is an excellent surname for this... (I needed any surname meaning jeweller, as in "crown jeweller" therefore mixing the concept of Tyler, he who puts tiles, and Stevens, crown, as making crowns involves embedding gems into crowns which is like puting tiles in a roof)
