Can trace records back to 1653-1654 to Charleston, South Carolina(the place is in question)cannot find the country of origin. Have used various search methods to attempt to locate country. Some information that may or may not be relevant because I cannot find a source of confirmation. The name could possibly be a french Huguenot or some derivative. Huguenots-16-17th century-Calvinist driven from France by persecution of the Catholic majority. Many thousands immigrated and this is where I am unable to find whether they went to England and then to America or from France to America. Any information that you can supply will be greatly appreciated.
