I did a search on https://familysearch.org/search and found that the earliest documented black Liggins was Aaron born in Georgia around 1805 (see https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MH29-RJ5). If you have enough time and patience, you might be able to go back beyond that.
