Looking for a good surname for the name....
I am working on a webcomic, and I need a name for my character. He's a principal at a high class Catholic school, but he's rather cruel, greedy, and the typical rich-snobby-type-old-man character. his first name is Clancey, but I'm looking for an English last name that would go well for this type of character, and well with this name. Anyone who knows about writting please help. Even if you dont know, an opinion would be good too.
I'm thinking: Bringham, Bullard, Ingram, Linwood, Merricks, Moore, Palmer, Ryers, Walker, Waters, Winter, or White....
I'm looking into meaning as well to better match his personality. Help anyone?

Just as comic relief ...how about "Rydeher" ...a little sexual innuendo never 'herts'!!
I threw open my Irish surname book and saw 'Grant' ...it comes from the Normans ...probably a good, powerful origin for your last name fictional character and of course it means "grand, large" ...someone who is in a position of power ...however, any of the names you cite work well also ...
