Wehmeyer is a variant of Wedemeyer whose origin you'll find at http://www.ancestry.com/name-origin?surname=wedemeyer. Buitendach is a Dutch alteration of a German name which has been traced back to Butendach (see tinyurl.com/kqaaquq) but I don't know its origin. Sibbick is a mystery to me.

This is where I get the surname Sibbick from; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Sibbick and if Butendach is dutch... what are plausible etymologies for it?

What I meant to say about Sibbick is that I know it's English and that it's found primarily in Hampshire (see http://www.ancestry.com/name-origin?surname=sibbick) but I have no idea of it's origin. Butendach is German as I said before and I suspect it might be a variant of Butendeich which means 'outer dike'.

oh ok, thanks :D and what would be the part that means "dike"? the "deich" I guess? and "Buten" would mean "Outer"? (thanks, thanks a lot).
