original name???
Just wondering if anyone knows the meaning of the last name: Sandy? I was told that it was shortened when my ancestors settled in the U.S. I was also told that they were from Scotland and Ireland. I know the english meaning but I was wanting to know where they got the name Sandy from. What was it before it was shortened.
Thanks
