Origin
I'm not sure if this name is German or a combination of the Austria/Hungry Empire combined with Germany before unification. "gal" "Gallus" and "hoff" all have meaning. I believe our family raised poultry on a farm they owned or tended. I believe they lived next to or on top of the animals they raised or atleast in very close proximity I've seen the name "Galeshoff" used in Germany a few years ago as well.
