Freese was my Grandfather's family surname. They were all born in Sweden. I've had no luck finding the meaning or an alternate spelling. Help!

North German = Fries

In Germany, Freese is a variant of Fries which is an ethnic name for someone from Friesland. Freese and Fries are both found in Sweden so the origin is probably the same.
