Patefield: the name is English. I believe it may be reference to a region in the British Isles. Other than that, I've no clue; I have been unsuccessful in finding information anywhere else. Please help.

According to the forthcoming Family Names of Britain and Ireland, Patefield is from a reinterpretation of Old French Poitevin, signifying a man from the Poitou region in France.
