meaning of mulcahy

help me please! ive looked everywhere for the meaning of my last name but cant find ANYTHING! if anyone can help either find the meaning or already knows it, id be much appreciative. (if you cant tell already, mulcahy is irish)

Relax ...it's an easy one for Irish name books ...it's from Ó Maolcathaigh, from the first name Cathach ...'O' means obviously, "descended of" (roughly) and 'maol' means "devotee of" (it's actually from a word meaning {I believe} censure ...the act of monks shaving the middle of their heads) and 'cathaigh' meaning "warlike" ...'cath' meaning basically "war" ... there are many names that are similar ...
