Also may have been czervenko with "a" ending, the parents' children baptism found in Slovak Church Books around mid 1890's. They are listed as being from Hungary.

The data is not calling the name American. Its only stating that the Hungarian name was fairly popular in the United States. Its because of the diverse cultures present there. American is not a language, and its hardly a culture. Its only a home for different cultures, so it also has common names of French, German and Spanish origin.
