Anyone know the origin/etymology of this name?
I don’t know the ethnicity of the bearer, since I’ve never met them in person, but I assume they’re white.

Swedish: ornamental name composed of the elements blom ‘flower’ + quist, an old or ornamental spelling of kvist ‘twig’.

Someone pointed out that he Swedish government asked people to choose new surnames using elements like this relatively recently (e.g. the late 1800s) as everyone until then were simply known by patronymics and they were all too similar,
