Um, becauseKay is a teenager in Canada, and you live near DC. She doesn't have much of a reason to know of him yet, the same way that you or I might not know much about any famous Canadian Prime Ministers. Calm down.

Roggeveen sounds Dutch, "Veen" means peatmoor and "Rogge" means rye (I'm not sure that this rogge has anything to do with this ln, but I'm pretty sure veen is meant with this meaning (peat))
