Surname Godbehere
The surname appears to be English in origin, with the known locations from old census information from the UK. I am guessing it is very literally from the English 'God is here'. I am wondering if it is more like derived from occupation, ie. a minister, or location, a place that was believed to be holy and lived on or lived near by the family. Any more info so it can be added would be great!

'It seems like "behere" might share origins with "bright" or "beraht" as in Robert, Albert - so , 'Bright God', probably pronounced God-ber
