Do you know the meaning and orgin of the the surname Chandler?
I think that it is possibly French(maybe). I believe that we have some French ancestors on my fathers side.

A chandler is a ship's supplier,concentrating mainly upon rope,lamps,safety equipment,knives and all weather clothing if I remember the ships chandler in my home town right.I spent a lot of my youth in these places.S.

It means candle-maker or candle-seller, a chandelle is a candle in French
