Maitlis
Until she quit the BBC, I loved Emily Maitlis when she was on Newsnight. I can't find Maitlis here. Anyone know it's meaning? During her time on Newsnight, I loved her and wished I'd hug and kiss her but since she quit, I have stopped watching Newsnight and though I still love her in most of the videos of her on YouTube, I have now dropped her from my most loved celebrities as I doubt if she'll ever appear on screen on any channel.

According to the Guggenheimers' Jewish Family Names and Their Origins, Maitlis is derived from Middle High German meit 'girl, virgin, maid'. Variants include Maiteles, Maiteless, Maitles.

A mystery to me too, though I note what is, to me, a Lithuanian appearance.
