Origin and meaning of Kruse/Krause
According to ancestry.com there is a old German word meaning mug or jug which could be the origin of this name (Kruse/Krause in subject) being a name used be makers and sellers of such items. Can anyone comment on the likelyhood of this? I am not great at German bus there is definitely a Danish word which is similar meaning mug so this sounds likely to me.

Kruse and Krause are from Middle High German krūse ‘pitcher, jug’, either the nickname of a maker or seller of jugs or one for a heavy drinker.
