Famous theater actor Shim Young's surname has ancient and noble origins. Shim Young(Born on September 3rd, 1910, and died on July 24th, 1971) was Shims of Cheongsong county. He was a descendant of Shim Hong-Bu.
Shim Hong-Bu was a politician in the Goryeo dynasty of Korea. He erected the Shim clan of Cheongsong. In later times, Shim families of Cheongsong county, Northern Gyeongsang province migrated into Northeastern Korea. So Shim Young's birthplace is Cheolwon county of Gangwon province.
When the Japanese conquered Korea, Shim Young changed his name to Jinei Aoki(青木沈影). Because Aoki is the Japanese pronunciation of Cheongsong.
