Every ancestor I've come across with name are from Pas-de-Calais... any ideas on the meaning?

It is a variant of Appourchaux and other variants include Apourchaux, Apourcheau, Apourcheaux, Appourceaux, Appourcheau, Appourchaud, and Apourchaud (many rare and/or historical). It is most likely related to the French word 'pourceau' meaning "pig, swine" and originally referred to pig breeders.
