Horrigan
Looking for origins, as my family are from County Cork/County Limerick. They emigrated to Wales in the early 1900s. Possibly gipsies/tinkers/travellers. Any info very welcome.

1. Shortened Anglicized form of Gaelic Ó hAragáin, a reduced form of Ó hAnradgáin (see Hanrahan).
2. (County Cork): shortened Anglicized form of Gaelic Ó hArgáin ‘descendant of Argán’. 1 and 2 are related, but arose from variants that existed in Irish before Anglicization.
