It actually comes from "Kvedaras", which (I was surprised to find) is an old Lithuanian form of Theodore. It may be borrowed from (if not, cognate to) Belarusian Хведор (Khvedor) or Ukrainian Хведір (Khvedir) which are also old forms of Theodore in those languages.Source: https://pavardes.lki.lt/ (it is a fairly comprehensive source for any Lithuanian surnames)Edit: Kvedara is another variant though
