Tillotson
As I went into my email account just now, I've seen a headline saying that the 60's singer Johnny Tillotson is dead. I couldn't believe I'd forgotten him after almost 20 years as 60's music is hardly played on the radio nowadays, isn't it? I suppose son in last names is the son of something, but who or what is Tillot as it isn't in the T list?

Tillot is a medieval hypocoristic form of Matilda, thus one of the relatively few matronymic surnames in native English.Source: https://www.ancestry.ca/name-origin?surname=tillotson
