Re: Abouelenein last name?

It looks like a univerbation of the Arabic name أبو العينين, more commonly transcribed "Abou El Enein". Based on the transcription style, he probably came from northern Africa (i.e. Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, etc.), but anywhere in the Arab world is possible. The name is a patronymic and literally means "father of the two eyes"—most likely from a nickname rather than a real name. "Eyes" can also refer to a water spring in Arabic.
