Kintessack
Hello, Does anybody know the origin and meaning of the name Kintessack? It is the name of a small place near Dyke in Scotland. There seems to be a connection with the surname Kentie or soundex (kinte, kinti, kenti, kenty etc.).Thanks,
marina

Not sure, but looks a lot like ...Kinchelow, Kincheloe, Kinslow, Kinsloe, Kinchlow ...Ultimately, if it has Celtic roots (which I believe it does), it comes from the base of a word meaning "kin" or "closeness" ...it has evolved into several other meanings, such as in the case of kin which means "family", but the root is still the same ...
