where does the surname Goris originate from???

what is the origin of the surname Goris, i had a hard figuring this out. my surname happens to be one of the rarest. the only info i was able to find city called Goris located in Armenia. im not sure if thats where my ancestry is from or just coincidental.

Dutch, patronymic, meaning "George". Goris could be a surname in other languages, but I'm not aware of any others.

I agree with Jim Young. But this surname could be belgian as well.
It could be,according to Jean Tosti a variant of Gooris, coming from a first name like "Gregory" or an old german first name "Gaugerius"?

My maiden name is Goris and my father was from Antwerp, Belgium.
