My instinct was to assume that this came from the Dutch Rijvers and I don't seem to be alone in that. On the following website a person with that name has been looking for people called Ryvers to see if there is any connection. www.sjraverbong.nl/rijvers/familie%20rijvers.htm - 20k
Don't quite get the poem ...checked out the site briefly, but maybe I'm a bit age challenged ...
Anyway, ...Ryvers seems an obvious transliteration of "Rivers", but seemingly a rare one. I couldn't find it on several of the sites I normally find alternate spellings of common names. I may be way off base, but my bet is that a creative ancestor threw a 'y' in for an 'i' to add "flavor" or “prestige” or whatever …
