Brock is an English word for "badger" ...so it would mean the "badger town" ...

And possibly Tyrol from ...

tyro
tiro
noun

tyros
1. A novice or beginner.

Thesaurus: beginner, learner, apprentice, novice, amateur, greenhorn (slang); Antonym: veteran.
Etymology: 17c: from Latin tiro a young soldier, a recruit.

You are correct that it is a region bordering on Austria & Italy ...
