North German and Dutch: topographic name from Middle Low German struk, Middle Dutch struuc ‘bush’.

SCHARPING
North German (also Schärping): derivative of Scharf.
Scharf
South German: nickname for an energetic, active person, from Middle High German scharf, scharpf ‘sharp-cutting’.
