Interesting name...
A close friend's surname is Moshofsky. Does anyone know of the history of this name? I think it's Czech.

I suppose the name is "FYROMian". It might mean "Of Moscow" or "Of Mosko". In Bulgarian, it would be Moskov (son of Mosko) or Moskovski (Of Moscow). I suppose Greek influence for the transition of K to H because Greek people call Moscow as Moscha.
