the above link is about Barron/Baron and it says it is of Celtic origin. Because the Basque people are a Celtic tribe as well, there are many comparisons between their languages and thus the Basque surname Barrón has the same meaning. Though, the surname isn;t necessarily Basque, because the word baron can be found in todays Spanish (and many other Europian languages) as well, even Latin (here it has the meaning of an undeveloped person).
