Hi, my last name is Giumara, although I know that's not the historical spelling of it. The closest I can get is that it might be either "Giummara" or "Giummarra" It is from Sicily, but I would like to know the meaning and the correct spelling of the name.
If anyone has any suggestions or thoughts, it would be greatly appreciated!

Giumarra and Giummarra are both found in Sicily, but not, it seems, Giumara or Giummara. I suppose the best spelling is Giumarra as that's the name of a village(?) in Eastern Sicily, where the name is best represented. Giumarra is about 25 miles west of Catania.
