Rhymes with 'Blur', but I've gotten just about every pronunciation the human mouth can produce. Flew-er is the most commoon, I get Floor, Flea-er and Flora a lot too, and Blue once.
I would love to explain to someone for two hours the development of the name 'Veronica', or even more excitingly, 'James'. I like names for their allusions. I like the -hild suffix and the Cas- prefix. I love Kazakh, Icelandic, Russian and Welsh names.
Would love to fight any Ruths or Gertrudes who post rude comments under non-white names. Get with the times Grandma. That being said any variant on Braden, Hayden, Kaeden etc. is an abomination to mankind. So are any forenames with the Mc- prefix. But I also like the name 'Balthasar' so maybe I can't judge.
A fun activity is scrolling through the American popularity list and going past the 300 mark. Schadenfreude.
