This is one of the surnames of the Danish author and poet, Steen Steensen Blicher (b. 11 October 1782 in Vium near Viborg – d. 26 March 1848 in Spentrup), who was also a clergyman. Blicher was the son of a literarily inclined parson whose family was distantly related to Martin Luther, the initial creator of Lutheranism.
